Always eat after 7 book cover

To summarize,  Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night.

It is like the diet plan for those of us who don’t want to go hungry and don’t want to give up our late-night snacks.

And it’s been working for me!

My goals going into this were:

  1. Lose weight. CHECK!
  2. More energy. CHECK!
  3. Be more mindful about what I am eating. CHECK!

I admit, I went easy on myself. I did not set goals of losing a certain number of pounds because I am the kind of person who does not like to put pressure on myself before I know how this is going to go. I did lose about 7 lbs so far without really making drastic changes - just following some of the suggestions in the book.

The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

I did not follow this book religiously. I mean, I followed the cheat days religiously (haha), but aside from that, I found a nice balance that was a loose interpretation of the diet plan that worked for me, my family, and my job (this food blog).

And I still saw results.

So if you give this a chance and go all in, you might also learn a lot about yourself, your relationship with food, and the changes you need to make in your life to be your best self.

My main takeaway from this book regarding diets are:

“Allow yourself bad moments, not bad days.” If you don’t eat well for one meal, don’t give up on the whole day. Just move on. Don’t forget about your diet for the rest of the week and wait until Monday to restart. Just get back into it.

“You haven’t failed. Your diet failed you.” You have to find a diet and a lifestyle that works for you and is doable for YOUR eating preferences. For me, it was this diet that that allows plenty of evening foods.
