Always Eat After 7 PM

Last year I turned 35 and things sort of started going downhill. I no longer lose weight when I start to exercise regularly, and I often wake up feeling so tired (even though my toddler finally started sleeping through the night!). 

I needed an energy boost and a metabolism boost. All this without spending even more time working out, because ain’t nobody got time for that.

So when I heard about the "Always Eat After 7 PM" book by Joel Marion, I was intrigued.

This book sounds like it was written just for me. Just look at this quote from the book:

“Always Eat After 7 pm lets you eat at night, burn fat at night, and end junk food cravings at night. Along the way, it moves you to a healthier, leaner body and more energy—and it does so quickly.”

I am in! 

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal.

I always like seeing the research and data behind claims, so I loved reading all the scientific studies that debunked these myths.

Seeing all the data made me want to commit to this plan!

I’ll take you through my journey through this book over the next few weeks.

Why Joel wrote the book

Joel wrote this book because he unexpectedly gained 50 lbs because of nighttime cravings and uncontrollable hunger. He read through a ton of scientific research and learned that it is just a myth that you shouldn't eat the bulk of your calories at night. He came up with a system that worked for him and wanted to share it with others.

My goals

I have 3 goals after reading this book:

  1. Lose weight. I don’t have a target weight loss goal. I just know I am a little overweight and want to make a sustainable lifestyle change to avoid gaining weight, especially now that I am getting older.
  2. Have more energy.
  3. Be more mindful about when and what I am eating. 

The plan

The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: 

  • The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results
  • The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals
  • The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good 

I am currently easing my way into the Acceleration Phase, and I can’t wait to see how it makes me feel.
