Simple, tasty, and just a little bit fancy! This Blackberry Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese can be made in the air fryer or on the stove. Make sure to read the notes for tasty add-in ideas!
2tablespoonsbutteruse salted butter for a sweet & salty flavor combo
4ozgoat cheesecrumbled or in a log
4ozwhipped cream cheese(for a sweeter grilled cheese use strawberry flavored whipped cream cheese)
6ozblackberriesrinsed and patted dry
Instructions
Spread butter onto one side of each slice of bread.
In a bowl, mix the goat cheese and whipped cream cheese together.
In another bowl, mash the blackberries.
Spread the goat cheese mixture onto on slice of bread on the non-butter side.
Spread the mashed blackberries onto the other slice of bread.
Place slices of bread together to create a sandwich, butter side on the outside.
Stovetop instructions: Heat a large skillet to medium-low heat. Place the sandwiches on the pan, cover, and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the bread is toasted golden brown and and the cheese is melty and softened inside. Keep an eye on the bread to make sure it does not burn.
Air fryer instructions: Preheat air fryer to 350F. Air fry for about 6 minutes, or until the cheese is melty and softened and the bread is golden brown. Keep an eye on the bread to make sure it does not burn.
Notes
Try these tasty add-ins: Drizzle of honey, spicy honey, or balsamic glaze. A few drops of balsamic vinegar. Sprinkle of cinnamon. Finely diced basil or mint. Sprinkle of red pepper flakes or ground cayenne pepper. Swap some of the cheese for shredded gruyere or thinly sliced brie.Don't have whipped cream cheese? Use 2 oz of regular cream cheese and melt it for just a few seconds in the microwave to soften it and make it easier to mix with the goat cheese and spread.
