Refreshing, delicious, nutritious, and so easy to make! This Strawberry Agua Fresca is one of the best uses for fresh strawberries and is a great way to stay hydrated.
3cupswater(already chilled water is best because you can drink it immediately and won't need to water it down with as much ice)
2tablespoonsagave syrupor more to taste (or use sugar or honey, or your favorite sweetener)
Instructions
Hull the strawberries (remove the green parts that you don't want to eat).
Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blend for 15-30 seconds, until the strawberries are fully blended.
Taste the agua fresca. You might need to add more agave if your strawberries aren't very sweet. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour, or enjoy immediately over ice!
Optional step: strain through a fine mesh sieve. I don't recommend doing this because you'll remove a lot of the flavor by straining out the strawberry, but this is a good option if you don't like the pulp.

Notes
This recipe for agua fresca makes a lighter, less sugary drink than many recipes out there. If you prefer a sweet juice-type drink, add an extra tablespoon of lime juice and ¼ - ⅓ cup agave. When agua fresca sits for a while, it is normal for it to get separated: the solid strawberry bits will settle down and the water will float on top. It might not look appetizing, but it is totally fine! Just stir together and serve.
